This is the kind of special car dreams are made of !! Your friends will be in awe when they see you pull up in this RARE and DESIRABLE collectable Classic Corvette Roadster !! This car is truly BEAUTY and the BEAST !! I was asked to sell this Gorgeous L89 Vette by a good friend of mine who has lovingly owned this BEAUTY for the last 18+ years. He told me that he just doesn't have much spare time anymore and the car sits in his garage most of the time. He is in his late fifties and as you can clearly see in the pictures this is his pride and joy !! I can't imagine finding another 1968 Corvette L89 BIG BLOCK Roadster that has been babied like this one ! I took this car out to check it over and take the pictures and it is an AWESOME MUSCLE CAR to say the least !! I was very impressed how well the car handles and how smooth and POWERFULL it is ! You talk about a KICK to drive, UNBELIEVABLE !! This is a DRY - SOLID - Idaho high mountain desert western vehicle. If you can make it to Boise in the next ten days please come and look at this car for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed!! THIS IS A QUALITY CAR FOR SURE !!
The GROUND POUNDING - ORIGINAL - NUMBERS MATCHING - L89 - BIG BLOCK (435 HP) - 427 CID - Aluminum Heads - Tri Power V8 motor is very responsive. As you can imagine the acceleration and power this car has is hard to describe, TO FUN !! No car that I know of sounds BADDER And MEANER than a Big Block GM with dual exhaust. I like to drive it just to listen to the sound of this car and trust me your friends will most assuredly here you coming when you lay the hammer down on this Beast !!
My friend bought this car in 1993 from a collector here in Idaho that was selling it to start a new business. The collector had the original motor rebuilt by the best shop here in Idaho and it has less than 700 miles since the rebuild, this car does not leak a drop of anything. The cars vin number is 194678S420015. The car was built in Saint Louis on May 21st. On several occasions the current owner entered it in Corvette only car shows and ALWAYS won best of class. The owner purchased a Corvette Judging Reference Manual to see how the car compared to criteria in the manual. Some of the results were as follows. This vet was the 20,015th one built. After serial number 13,723 to the end of the model year, the upper alarm light is "Door Ajar" and the lower is "Wiper Aerate". Head light shields are intact and the original semi gloss black plastic. Headlamps are T-3low beams. Body and Trim tag shows STD black vinyl, and 984 paint, Safari Yellow and J21 as a build date that is May 21st. The 1968 was the only year that had a telescopic only steering column with an outer ring around the horn used to lock it into the desired height. Having the correct glass amounts to 45 points awarded for originality. The outside rear view mirror is original. The casting number on the engine, 3916321 was for engines 4 bolt main 435 HP. The identification stamp of TO305IU means that the engine was built in Tonawanda March 5th and was a 435 hp 427 4 speed Tri-Power Aluminum Heads. The four digit code on the Holly carbs are 3659 for the outers and 4055-1 for the center only. They use the Julian calendar dates so the outers were built in first week of February of 68 and the center first week of May 68. The intake manifold number is 3937797. The alternator date code is 8 E8 which is May 8 1968. The alternator number is 1100696, 42 amps base unit, "TI" 435 HP. The exhaust manifold casting numbers are 3880827 and 3880828 used on 68 and 69 vets. Headlight actuators work like new which is unusual for a Vet this old. The starter date code is 8 D3 that is for April 68. The spare tire is the original. The transmission date code is P8D16, P=Mincie 8=1968 D=April and 19- April 16th 1968. There are 105 pages in the Judging Manual and this car would score very high when compared to the standards in the manual. To my knowledge the only two things not working on this car are the washer squirter and the odometer. WOW. This car is a survivor and has a great history. Being original is a rarity and now you can carry on the history of a great car.
The overall cosmetic impression of this car is fantastic ! The EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL mostly ORIGINAL yellow exterior paint is VERY NICE with only a few imperfections but is still bright and shiny and looks BEAUTIFUL as you can see in the picture above and the 100 ADDITIONAL PICTURES BELOW. The Original black upholstery is also VERY NICE. The steel belted performance radial tires and stock rally rims with trim-rings and center caps are the finishing touch to this stock collector Corvette and they are in nice shape. The car has 8" rally wheels instead of the stock 7" wheels but the owner has the original wheels if you want them. The interior is in very nice shape and is ALL ORIGINAL !! This is the perfect cure for your mid-life crisis and a great investment to boot !! Only about 400 of these RARE L89 Roadsters were made and this is your chance to own this great investment. Mileage: 76,996 miles.
